Club Night Members Draw:

Club Night, Friday 27th June: $175.00!  Member number 116.  Ross Tucker. Unfortunately for Ross he was not present and therefore unable to claim the prize. Draw value increases to $200.00 next week

Annual Cub to Pub:

Well for this year at least it was the Club to Sperm Whale Head (Pub) Its not actually a regular pub but we gave it that classification for the day.

By all counts the day was very successful and as usual most enjoyable. Again, I, like many other members, have missed out on a great day on a wonderful waterway in the company of a group of lovely people.

Clubrooms Repaint:

Thanks Gerald Droog for submitting these photos of the renovations currently being undertaken. The clubrooms have been in need of some serious maintenance for a while. The painting should be completed by the end of the week.

If you want to learn more about the renovations or any of the other interesting goings on within the club - all will be revealed at the club general meeting on June 28th

Queens Birthday Weekend trip to Sale: Over the recent long weekend a number of members cruised across Lake Wellington and up the Latrobe River to Sale. Timing for the cruise was important as arrangements had been made for the swing bridge near Sale to be opened to allow the higher boats access to the Port of Sale. Once at Sale, Members linked up with the Port of Sale Boat Club who had organised a barbeque and refreshments. By all counts a great night was had by all concerned. The following photos of the weekend have been supplied courtesy of Chris Robinson and Tonia Stokes.
Tonia Stokes took this rather stunning picture of the sunrise over Hollands Landing. There is a sunrise/sunset photo competition about to be started within the club. I think Tonia has set a fairly high benchmark with this photo!
Morningtons' recent storm lashing:

The following are some pic's sent to us by

Phil & Joy Zeuschner.

It is worth noting that the destruction shown here is nothing new. Mornington harbour is often devastated in similar fashion by violent northerlys. This will continue until common sense prevails and they finally build a decent protected harbour. "Global Warming" had precious little to do with it either, similar storms have ravaged Port Philip Bay for years.

Plover Point March 8th 9th: A fairly large band of happy cruisers joined with the Port of Sale Cruiser Club for our annual trip to Plover Point to watch the participants of the Marley Point overnight yacht race. We don't have a clue who actually won it but we had a ball in the lead up to the yachts actually going past. To be honest there was probably only a few of us who eventually saw the leading yachts go by. But we all had a great time as has become the norm for such get-togethers.

The accompanying photos shown here are with the compliments of Chris Robinson, thanks Chris your contributions are frequent and most appreciated.

Club "Calendar of Events" page has now been updated to include all planned cruises and functions up to September

"Corkys Bundy Run" Approximately 15 members entered their boats in the annual run around Raymond Island held on January 26th. This event has been gaining in popularity from year to year and it seems to be common consensus that this years event was the best yet. Many of the boats were elaborately decorated depicting  various themes. All came well prepared to participate in the water bombing fights with many  raging battles developing. Winners will be posted here when I get the info. However, rest assured, if you did not participate, you missed a whale of a time!

The days events were capped of with "Arnie" performing at the club in the evening. Turnout for the evening was a little disappointing but those present again had a great nights entertainment with lots of audience interaction. Twas a great pity to see quite a few tables vacant for the whole evening - tables that had been reserved by members who did not show up!

A number of prizes were awarded:

Best Dressed Boat: "Lionheart" Bob & Julie Cove                                 Best Dressed Crew:  The crew of  "Binyara"

Best Theme Boat: "Odyssey" Leigh Vinnell                                              Best Aussie Theme:  "Emily Bay" Matt & Leslie Edwards
