"The Birth of a Boat"

Some club members will be aware that I am currently building a 12.6 metre cruiser. As we are a cruiser club I thought it may interest some members if I put up some info and pictures of the project so here goes!

The boat is a Roberts Waverunner 38. However I have extended this to Robert's "Euro" version which provides a nice looking very functional platform at the stern, it also extends the boat to 42ft 5in (12.6 metres). Draft is 4ft, beam 13ft (4 metres). It is a semi displacement hull which will be powered by a fully marinised 180 hp Nissan diesel.  Estimated speed is cruise at 8 knots but capable of 12 to 13.

I started building from paper plans in January 07. The hull was built upside down and we rolled it over last weekend (01/03/08). That point is usually regarded as halfway in the production and I expect to have it launched about this time next year. I "retired" 4 years ago and now work 7 days a week boatbuilding!
